November 2010 at Silverhill
What a brilliant date it turned out to be.
Sunny skies, a bit of a nip in the air, just the right sort of a day
for a winter walk. Only a few walkers ventured out, but we all were in
for a treat. The scenery was excellent with views over the counties of
Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. From Hardwick Hall, Pleasley colliery,
Clipstone colliery headstock and the steam clouds of several power
stations, viewed from the top of the disused colliery of Silverhill.
Thanks to Colin for a wonderful walk and to Carol Justice for the
photograph of the bronze statue of a miner.
