Croatia by air to the Istrian Peninsula
Full itinerary here.
We will be staying half-board at the excellent
Hotel Pical, ten minutes walk from the centre of Porec and 130m from
the beach
After discussion with the 37 members now wishing to go to Croatia, I
can now confirm that we will be flying from Manchester to Pula instead
of Birmingham to Trieste. I found there were more advantages in
changing the airline.
All transfers will still be included, although the final price to be
announced in January will be only a fraction over the original price of
£699. Please note the following points:-
- I will need a deposit
of £50 in January (payable to Mansfield U3A) to secure our
places on
the aircraft. Prices may increase the longer we wait!
- Please collect a ‘Just for Groups’
document to fill in your insurance details & return with your
deposit. Remember to add on £46 insurance if you wish to take advantage
of the Company’s insurance.
- So
that I make no mistakes when applying for airline tickets, would you
bring in a copy of your passport to me by the January meeting please. I
will return this to each of you at Manchester airport before we travel.
The company’s optional insurance costs £46.

Cruise around Britain for 10
nights
JUST
FOR GROUPS' company is offering a reduced price for this cruise on MV
Braemar before it appears in the Fred Olsen Cruise Lines preview
brochure.
I am assured it has
been a very popular holiday in the past
so if you are interested please collect a leaflet with details of the
itinerary and the accommodation, price and cabin details. Our
home port will be Dover and we will be calling at Guernsey, Falmouth,
Dublin, Lerwick in the Shetland Isles, Invergordon and Rosyth with
ample time for optional
excursions every time.
There'll be lots to
see en-route too as we
cruise past the Western Isles, for example, and lots to do on board
as Fred Olsen's pride themselves on their food and entertainment. This
offer will finish in March so it will be a pity if we cannot take
advantage of this opportunity. They will run it for us even if there
are under ten people!

Update: January 2012
|
Around
Britain
Cruise
4th May - 3rd June 2013
We
now have over 10 people signed up for this holiday which means that we
will be picked up in Mansfield and taken down to Dover free of charge!
You may need reminding that as with most cruises I have seen advertised
month, that a deposit of 10% of the cost of your cabin has
to be paid by the end of February or we willl lose 5% and
if we wait until after the end of March we will lose another 10%. I am
told that another £200-£500 will be added on to the price when
Fred Olsen releases the prices to the public, so we should really take
advantage of this 15% offer given exclusively for us!
If
any more of you are interested and haven't got a brochure come and
fetch one or click here, then please ring me ASAP. I shall then call
a meeting for all of us before the end of February to discuss the
procedure of booking and other details like choosing first or second
sittings for dining. I shall also bring with me a limited number
of plans of the 'Braemar' so you will be able to choose your exact
cabin on whichever deck appeals. Incidentally, I have been told
that you will need to take your passport with you on this holiday.
