Current affairs
The Current Affairs Group meets to discuss items of
local, national and international news that has interested them over
the previous month.
Each member is encouraged to bring
items of interest with them - firstly to give us the their opinion and
then to open up the discussion to the rest of the group.
These
discussions are always interesting with many differing points of view.
They are usually very lively and a bit unruly at times. They are,
however, always good natured and non party political.
Past
visits have included very interesting trips to the Magistrates Courts,
the Council Offices and to watch the Mansfield CCTV cameras being
monitored.
We like to go for a Group lunch once or twice a year and these are always enjoyable occasions.
